Simon became Community Health Systems' president of clinical services and chief quality officer last year after the Franklin, Tenn.-based company's merger with Health Management Associates, which made it the largest chain by hospital count. In her expanded role, Simon, 55, oversees all clinical operations, including medical staff relations, nursing, quality and safety, and case management. She joined Community in 2010 after serving as senior vice president and chief medical officer at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare in Louisville, Ky., where she was also a practicing neurologist.
